I hope some of you like paintings with a single tree on a hill, because I really like painting them. There is so much that can be read into a solitary tree. Solitude, Loneliness,Pride, Indifference, or as a watchman. Hence the Name "Standing Watch". I guess it depend on your perspective. Are you looking at the tree or are you the tree.
Derek, I really like the simplicity of this painting. Very powerful.
