I am busy painting and framing for shows. This is one of the painting I will be dragging across the country, hopefully for not very long. I have been working a a deal with a company that supplies framed prints for hotels. They have 37 of my painting that they are looking to print. Hopefully it will come to something, you just never know how these kind of things will do. Wish me luck!

I have been in the doledrums as far as painting goes. I have been painting, but it has been laborous. I have finally come into the light and am painting at a furious pace. I seem to work best under a deadline.

I am presently painting a lot of small acrylics. I just haven't taken the time to take photo's of them. I am wanting to do some instructional painting videos. So,I bought a new computer with windows 7. Then I found out that my real expensive scanner won't work with Windows 7 ,that'a a real bummer.

Well it already happened, I got in 2 art shows ranked in the top 100 in the nation. Both are on the same weekend. Now I will have to cancel one. Summerfair in Cincinnati and 57th Street in Chicago. Summerfair is close, but 57th Street is grandfathered. If I do 57 St, I might be guaranteed of getting back in for at least a couple years. Summerfair keeps jurying me in and out. I was in, then out, in 2 years, then out, now in again. The economy is really down in Cincinnati, maybe it's better in Chicago. This is a tough call.

I am starting to hear back from art shows, it looks like it could be an interesting year. I have gotten in a couple shows that I have been trying to get in for years. I got on the wait list for Talbot Street in Indianapolis. I have been applying for 15 years. I hear it is a Gran-fathered show. At least that is how it has been in the past. Once you are in, your in. I have been paying a $20 jury fee for 15 years and have just now gotten on the wait list. That is pretty sad. I have always sent very bright paintings with reds and yellows.

This year I went with Blues and purples, that are slightly more realistic, and not so much in your face. I also got in the 57st Art Show in Chicago. Hopefully the good news will keep on coming. It is a fickled business. The trick is getting back in the good shows that I did last year and then getting in more good ,new shows this year.

On many weekends, I will apply to 3 shows, hoping to get in one. I might get in 2 and have to cancel one, or I might not get in any of them. You just never know, it depends on who they pick to be on the Jury. It is a Crap Shoot, which makes it hard to plan your year. Wish me luck!

I am busy painting my heart out, getting ready for the coming art show season. It has been a long cold winter , with really high heating bills. We will all be happy to see spring. It is hard to get motivated to paint in the dreary cold of winter. I think some sunshine would brighten my disposition.
