Swirling,Billowy,Clouds - acrylic cloud painting with poetry

Upon a high, and lonely hill.
A dark and listless wind doeth blow.
The grass does dance,
the tree do sway,
as the light does rise,
from a hidden place.
And the whirling, swirling, wind dies down,
and the night does come,
and the stillness reigns,
and someone, hopes, for a brighter day.

For any one who follows me . This is a previous painting to my blog. The link following is for a site where they have a topic, and different artist express that idea in art, words, photography, etc. I decided to do both art and poetry.
The topic was SWIRLING
I hope you enjoy it.

Taxes - original acrylic mountain scene on canvas

"Fall in the Mountains"

by Derek Collins
Original acrylic mountain scene on canvas
I haven't had time to paint the last 2 days as I am still working on taxes. So here is a painting from a couple days ago. I am drinking Decaf today, I love coffee, but every couple weeks I have to detox myself on Decaf for a couple days. I French roast it, so it taste pretty good, but there aren't too many choices of different coffees when you get Decaf. I found a local roaster, and since I buy 10 pounds at a time they sell it to me Wholesale. I hope they survive the down turn I would hate to have to find somewhere else to get coffee. We didn't have a single coffee shop until about 6 years ago. Then all of a sudden we had 5. Now that the economy is so bad, we have lost 3 of them. When you start losing coffee shops, it is the end of society as we know it.

Taxes and school! Large acrylic landscape panorama painting on canvas

"Panorama in Blue"
12 x36 large acrylic landscape panorama on canvas

I've been doing my taxes today, and probable will be doing them tomorrow. Maybe the next day, also. I have some paintings in a show in Bloomington that I need to pick up. It's a 4 hour turn around, so that will probably waste a whole day. Four hours, that's assuming that I don't linger in the cool coffee shop, and take to long eating a Chipotles Chicken Burrito. We are having great difficulty with my sons Junior year. I'll be glad when school is out, just hoping to survive it al this point. Here ia a painting that I painted yesterday.

Not enough Time - large sunset painting on canvas

Everyone says you have to market youself on the internet in order to sell on the internet. The different things that you can do to market yourself are endless. It's really hard to know, what is the best use of your time. It is a little overwelming. I seem to spend all of my time on the computer, trying to keep up with it. Then I am too mentally wore out to get any painting done. So today I am tired and fustrated. I did manage to paint this painting.

At the moment, I seem to be in a groove. Everything I'm painting seems to be focusing on skies and clouds. It isn't something that I consciencely intended, but clouds are fun!.

Storm coming! - Impressionism Acrylic Storm Painting on Canvas

"Natures Imposing Presence"
18x24 Impressionism Acrylic Storm Painting on Canvas
By artist Derek T Collins
Have you been though a storm lately. I bet you thought you were the only one. While you were struggling, all the people around you were wearing their masks. Their happy faces hiding their secret pain. You weren't alone in your struggle. You just didn't know it! My van broke down a couple years ago in a small town in the middle of Wisconsin on the way to an art show. It was a very costly and painful experience. I was at the show and I was telling another artist about my problem. He said there are only 2 kinds of artist. Those who are broken down and those who are about to break down. Life is sometimes that way. I pray that your storm passes quickly.
