This painting has some really thick paint, $30 to 40 dollars worth, and some knife work. I used a tube an a half of the dark green Sap Green).
In the foreground I used a stamping techinque to give a crackle effect, you can see it a lot better in my Etsy store closeup photo.

Yea, I know, I was a little timid with the color. This is a painting that I had laying around, and I reworked it. I darkened the foreground. I added all of the trees at the base of the hill except the 3 on the left. It has a real good sense of depth. Phooey with the idea of making the colors grayer in the background to create depth. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Why would anyone want to skin a cat, anyway!

Basketball season has started and my son is keeping me hopping, taking him to practices and such. Next year he will be driving, and I'm sure that will change things considerable, as I will no longer be needed. The empty nest will soon be here.

My latest painting. I got the idea for this painting by doing Aceo miniature paintings. I have found that it is a great way to experiment and come up with new ideas and at the same time produce sell -able work. As oppose to doing sketches and then throwing them away.

Ok, so it isn't really suppose to be an Octopus, it just kind reminds me of one. I had to name it something. I have a twisted sense of humor, so why not! This painting has loads of texture. It has a lot of tissue paper glue on it to give texture. Then the paint is applied on top of the paper.
